The Higgs Potential (Mexican Hat)
The Higgs potential V = w^4 - 2 w^2 drawn as a wireframe cage of 11 level rings and 18 meridians spaced 20 degrees apart, under an orthographic camera at 30 degrees elevation. The meridians are split at the curvature changes w = 1/sqrt(3) and w = 1, and one vacuum bead sits on the circle of minima at w = 1. The circle of minima is coloured by phase, with hue set by the angle around it.
