Sinc Half Dunes

Newton's method applied to f(z) = sin(z) / z - 1/2. The roots march outward along the real axis at spacing 2 pi, and the frame is turned a quarter turn so that march reads as a vertical totem. The origin is a pole of the Newton map, since f'(0) = 0, and its preimages throw orbits past the escape radius, which is where the dark voids come from. One desert-sunset ramp is walked by iteration depth with a small phase shift per basin, so the basins read as strata of the same sunset.
