Newton & Halley
Glacial Filigree
Relaxed Newton Fractal
Newton's method with complex relaxation m = 1.9 + 0.3i applied to f(z) = z^5 - 1. The multiplier has modulus 0.9487, so convergence is linear and slow, with a median arrival of 390 iterations and a dwell spread only about 70 iterations wide across the whole frame. The tone curve is stretched across that narrow band. The five basins carry faint champagne, ice, blush, mint and violet casts and the chroma is pulled to near zero on the boundary so the lace stays silver.
