The Flame Column

The map z -> exp(|Re z| + i|Im z|) + c iterated from z = 0 over the parameter plane. The Burning Ship fold is fed to the exponential instead of being squared, so the escaping set is a hairy bouquet and not a hull. The frame stands one barbed flame column under two smooth lobes. Colour follows the strip each orbit visits on its first steps.
