At p = 5/2 the folded angle sweeps past pi above 72 degrees, so the hull can fold below its own waterline in a way no integer-degree ship can. Hue is stepped by a deck index counting how often an orbit visits that overshoot wedge, so every band boundary is a hard spectral jump.
