Mirror Armada

The Burning Ship map z -> (|Re z| + i|Im z|)^2 + c iterated over the parameter plane, deep inside the superstructure of the second ship at a half-width of 3.5e-6. A small ship stands on a bright seam between two lens-shaped phantoms of its own outline. Colour follows the fraction of each orbit spent folded and brightness follows the distance to the boundary.
